Overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the U.S. Government\u2019s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). Since 2014, nearly 4,400 young leaders from every country in Sub-Saharan Africa have participated in the Fellowship. The Fellows, between the ages of 25 and 35, are accomplished leaders and have established records of promoting innovation and positive impact in their communities and countries.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A successful candidate for the Mandela Washington Fellowship demonstrates an ability to get things done. Take a marketing approach to your resume that will command the ultimate amount of attention. Think about how you want the person who reads your resume to think of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In preparing your resume, remember three important tips:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Write in the third person (do not use the pronoun \u201cI\u201d).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Proofread your resume for grammatical and spelling mistakes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
