Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) is a public charity based in Bristol, Vermont, USA. WMI works to effect social change through education and community building by providing bright young people in the developing world with student scholarships and skills training, and building a network of grassroots leaders who catalyze societal transformation.
The Wells Mountain Foundation believes in the power of education and its importance in serving the community, so through the Empowerment Through Education (ETE) program, it offers university scholarships for citizens of developing countries to study in their home country or in a neighboring country.

WMI Undergraduate Scholarship Details:

Target countries:
Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya, Oman, Yemen, Somalia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Comoros, and other countries that are not from the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
Host University / Institute:
Any university in your home country or in another developing country.

Bachelor’s degree in any field of study, however applications are encouraged from those interested in pursuing degrees that will better help their communities such as:
Medicine, health sciences, community development, law, education, social work, business, information technology, agriculture, and engineering.

Financial Coverage in the WMI Undergraduate Scholarship:

The average award amount is $ 1,500 – $ 3,000 annually. And it is provided throughout the university education period of the recipient.
Scholarships can be used to cover tuition fees, books, materials and other related costs (room rent and meals).

Conditions for applying for the WMI Undergraduate Scholarship:

  1. He / she should be from one of the developing countries mentioned above.
  2. Successful completion of secondary education, with good to excellent grades.
  3. Be 35 years of age or younger on March 1, 2021
  4. Will study in his own country or another developing country.
  5. He is seeking a bachelor’s degree.
  6. He will be enrolled in a study program that will benefit the community and / or contribute to the continuous growth and progress of his country of origin.
  7. Plans to live and work in his country after graduation
  8. He must have some other money available for his education, but he will not be able to go on to pursue his university studies without financial aid
  9. To pledge to volunteer for 100 hours annually for the duration of the grant
