Information on the HurfordYouthFellowship Fellowship:
The Hurford Youth Fellowship seeks to build leadership skills and harness the potential of young democracy activists from around the world.
Through the programme, young activists spend three months in the World Movement’s Secretariat, during which they expand their global connections, exchange experiences with other activists from democratic movements around the world, and contribute to the development of the global movement for democracy.
Hurford Youth Fellowships participate in strategic meetings; Conduct a search; Organizing and leading presentations, online discussions, and information-sharing sessions on key democracy issues.
Upon successful completion of each fellowship, the fellows act as a regional/country focal point, working with the Hurford Youth Fellowship alumni network to remain involved and take the lead in youth-related activities.

4- Research proposal (Applicants’ project proposal is the most important part of their scholarship application. It should be clear, concise and understandable to individuals outside their field or focus-
Applicants’ proposal must correspond to one of the following three democracy themes: Defending Democratic Space, Promoting Inclusive Governance, or Promoting Democratic Leadership – The proposal must be no more than 1,200 words, and must describe the steps they will take to organize and complete fellowship projects (online discussions , research, and strategic meetings) – In the proposal, applicants must ensure that they answer the following specific questions: Of the three democracy topics outlined above, what is the proposed research topic for your fellowship project? What are three specific topics or questions for online discussion within your research topic? How do you conduct research and develop informational materials that can be used for wider dissemination and/or online discussions? How will you contribute to the further development of the youth activities of the World Movement for Democracy? How do you make professional use of your time in Washington and what does that mean for your organization?)
