Selection Criteria

The ToT is open for any practitioner (national or international staff) who is working in the humanitarian – development – peace nexus in Sudan. Candidates should have written and oral proficiency in English, pre-existing knowledge and experience in conflict sensitivity and a track record of working in the area of peacebuilding. Candidates must also have solid pedagogical skills, an ability and appetite to develop and deliver innovative training courses and workshops and a capacity to think out of the box.

Participants will be selected through a competitive process and the available spots will be allocated equally among representatives of UNAFPs, Civil Society and Academia while observing gender balance as closely as possible. Therefore, we highly encourage the application of female participants from all sectors. We also encourage applications from field duty stations and staff who are directly involved in PBF project implementation in Sudan. 

How to Apply

As a pre-requisite, candidates must complete the Conflict Sensitivity and Peacebuilding in Sudan online course in English (Sign up form available: here) and submit a valid certificate. Candidates must also send a Curriculum Vitae and a maximum one page long motivation letter explaining why they want to participate in this programme, how it is going to contribute to their career plans and what they envisage to accomplish with the newly learnt skills to promote best practices in conflict sensitivity and peacebuilding through their work. Candidates are also requested to submit a support letter from their supervisors as a nomination to represent their entity. 

Candidates will be evaluated based on the submitted documents. Upon successful completion of the first round, the shortlisted candidates will be contacted to submit a short video responding to some questions related to their motivation and ambitions.

Candidates who require travel to the training site should contact their organizations to cover the cost of travel, accommodation, DSA and other related costs as applicable.
