Prince Sultan College was founded in 1998 and enrolled students the following year. The Ministry of Higher Education PSC was promoted to Prince Sultan University (PSU) in 2002.
It was inaugurated by HRH Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud who was the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense, and Inspector General. PSU is a non-profit institution established in Riyadh by the Al-Riyadh Philanthropic Society, which is the legal umbrella of PSU. It was launched under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz when he was at the time the governor of Riyadh region and the chairman of the Board of Directors in dedication to the late Crown Prince Sultan. PSU is licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education.

Eligibility Criteria for Prince Sultan University Scholarship
- Eligible Countries: Applications are accepted from around the world, including UAE, Bahrain, Djibouti, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Comoros, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen.
- Admission Criteria:
- For non-Saudis: Applicants must have at least a 90% overall grade.
- For Saudis: Applicants must have at least an 85% overall grade.
- The percentage is calculated by adding: 30% from cumulative high school grades + 50% from aptitude test scores + 20% from achievement test scores.
Upon acceptance into the scholarship program, the following steps must be taken:
- Pay a non-refundable scholarship guarantee fee of SAR 5,000 within the specified time.
- This amount will be part of the tuition fees.
- If the scholarship guarantee fee is not paid, the scholarship will be canceled.
- Submit the original high school certificate within the specified time.
- Scholarship applications are to be submitted after receiving the student ID number.
- Scholarships are for new students only; you cannot apply for a scholarship after enrolling at the university.
- The required GPA to maintain the scholarship is 3.00 out of 4.00, starting from the end of the first semester.
