  • Application Period: February 12 (Thu) 11:00 AM – February 25 (Wed) 6:00 PM, 2026 (KST)
  • Note: All Embassy Track applications must be submitted online. Physical documents, mail, or email submissions will not be accepted during the initial round.

To be a competitive applicant for the 2026 cycle, ensure you meet the following:

  • Nationality: Applicant and parents must hold citizenship of an NIIED-designated country (and must not hold Korean citizenship).
  • Academic Record: A Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 80% or higher (or rank in the top 20% of your class).
  • Age: Under 40 years old (born after September 1, 1986).
    • Note: Academic professors from ODA recipient countries may apply if under 45 (born after September 1, 1981).
  • Degree Completion: You must hold (or be expected to hold) your degree by July 31, 2026.

Application Process: A Quick Roadmap

  1. Step 1 (Online): Register on the “Study in Korea” portal and upload scanned versions of all required forms (Forms 1–10) and academic transcripts.
  2. Step 2 (Selection): If you pass the 1st round (Embassy or University selection), you will be required to submit Consular Authenticated or Apostilled original documents.
  3. Step 3 (Final): NIIED makes the final selection, followed by visa application and departure for Korea.
