Al Qasimia University was established under a royal decree issued by HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, No. (2) for 2013, on the establishment of an Islamic, Arab University in the Emirate of Sharjah under the name of “Al Qasimia University”.
Occupying a prominent location in the University dormitory in the city of Sharjah, the University has an environmentally friendly campus built according to the latest systems and the highest standards that gather between the beauty of the Islamic architecture and the splendor of designs.
The University also includes an integrated set of services provided for supporting students out of the University’s keenness on creating an attractive and prominent educational environment serving students from all over the world, so that the vision of the founder, HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, President of Al Qasimia University, would be realized, and in order for the University to be a beacon of excellence in higher education and scientific research, basing all its actions on the fundamentals, principles and teachings of the tolerant religion of Islam open to the entire world.

Covering a total area of about 1.036.049 square meters, the University includes an administration building, a library, an auditorium, a Mosque, an Islamic Manuscripts House, colleges for male and female students, dorms for males and females, and housing for the teaching staff.

Funding provided by Al Qasimia University Scholarship
- Al Qasimia University funding is funded by the university only, reaching $ 600 per month.

- Al Qasimia University bears Johnson, which is the travel ticket from the country from which the student travels back and forth upon completion of 50% of his study plan
- The university expands on campus only.
- The university provides health insurance for all students.

Scholarship Program:
- The scholarship program is limited to international students.
- The scholarship program is limited to students admitted to the university from outside the UAE only.
- The accepted student from outside the country receives a monthly stipend determined by the university (according to the laws and regulations).
- The monthly stipend is paid in the summer only to students enrolled and accepted from outside the country (study is optional in the summer).
- The university shall bear the expenses of the travel ticket from the country from which the student travels back and forth when he completes 50% of his study plan and according to the permitted times and in accordance with the university calendar announced at the university if he is enrolled to study abroad.
- The university covers all the expenses and procedures of visas, residencies and the issuance of identity cards for students coming to study from outside the country.
- Providing health insurance in accordance with the policies and regulations adopted by the university for students accepted from outside the country.
- Providing housing for the beneficiary inside or outside the university in the city of Sharjah for what the university decides, if the beneficiary is coming to study from outside the country and is single or not dependent inside the country, and the university does not bear any responsibility towards the beneficiary if he marries during the period of his studies at the university.
- The university provides on-campus transportation service only.
- If the student does not show up on time, the visa will be cancelled.
- The university grants a ticket (one-way only) from the country to the country of which the beneficiary holds citizenship if he is enrolled to study from abroad after graduation.
Controls of the continuity of the scholarship:
- Enrollment in each semester and do not drop out of study.
- The semester and cumulative average in the regular semester should not be less than 2.00 points.
- In the event that the student’s semester or cumulative average (for the regular semester) is less than 2.00 points, the scholarship controls and instructions shall apply.
- The scholarship student is accepted at the university, provided that he is fully dedicated to studying, and he is not entitled to work throughout his studies at the university, and in the event that these instructions are violated, the scholarship will be cancelled.
- Students enrolled in the Intensive Arabic Language Program must successfully complete the program in one academic year (maximum) and then be assigned to one of the specialities offered by the university in accordance with the admission requirements in each specialization and the available academic seats. If he is unable to pass the program, the university’s regulations in this regard shall be applied.
- Adhere to the university’s regulations and laws, as well as the behavioral and ethical controls required by university life and community norms.
- The student will not be allowed to leave the university or leave the country without the prior permission of the university and with acceptable excuses.
Admission Requirements
First : Admission requirements for undergraduate programs offered by the university:
1.General Requirements:
• The years of schooling for obtaining high school or its equivalent must not be less than 12 years of schooling, including three years at the secondary level.
• The secondary certificate obtained by the student must be equivalent to the secondary certificate issued by the United Arab Emirates.
• In the event that the applicant does not obtain the required equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education, the student shall be granted conditional admission based on a no-objection letter issued by the Ministry of Education as follows:
- The period of conditional admission shall be one semester or two semesters at most.
- During the period of conditional admission, the student shall be registered in the qualifying materials prescribed in the No Objection Letter issued by the Ministry, provided that they are not counted within the hours required to obtain the bachelor’s degree nor in the student’s cumulative average.
- The student is granted a final acceptance in the event that he obtains the equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education, successfully passes the prescribed qualifying subject, or successfully passes 24 credit hours (during the conditional admission period) of the requirements of the specialization he will study.
- In the event that the student does not meet any of the above conditions, the university has the right to cancel the student’s admission.
• The student must not have been previously dismissed from Al Qasimia University or another university or higher institute for disciplinary or academic reasons.
• The date of obtaining a high school diploma or its equivalent must not have been more than two years.
• The applicant must be at least 16 years old and not more than 20 years old when applying to the university.
• Students will not be allowed to attend the study before completing the required documents.
• All applications for admission are considered preliminary, until they are validated and meet the requirements.
• Meeting the admission requirements does not guarantee of acceptance, as the admission process depends on the admission policy and the university capacity based on the availability of resources.
• The admission of students is according to the numbers to be accepted in each college, and the differentiation in the selection of students is according to the highest group, the newest graduated, the youngest.
• The applicant shall specify in the application for admission the colleges in order of priority according to his desire to join any of them.
• The university applies the admission criteria that approved the competency requirements in the subjects specified by the Ministry of Education for applicants to enter the university.
• The applicant must meet the competency requirements in Arabic (for native speakers), English and Mathematics (for students of College of Economics and Management ) in one of the following ways:
- Pass the EMSAT (as shown in Table 1)
- Obtaining the required rate (as shown in Table 1) in the relevant school subject studied by the student in the final year of secondary school.
- Obtain the required grade (as shown in Table 1) in the placement test organized by the University.
- Obtain the required grade (as shown in Table 1) in the foundation course offered by the University.
• International students (non-Arabic speakers) take a placement test in Arabic, and in the event that the required level is not achieved, the student enrolls in an intensive Arabic language program for one or two semesters at most in order to qualify him to study in the specialization he wishes.
• The pass mark in the language qualification program in Arabic at the Language Center for Non-Speaking Students is (C) and higher for enrollment in university programs.
2. Admission Requirements for undergraduate programs offered by the university:
1- Bachelor’s program in jurisprudence and its principles:
- Admission is made according to the type of secondary certificate and the required rate for each of them as shown in Table (2)
- Pass the interview successfully.
- Passing the tests prescribed in the subjects eligible for study at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
2. Bachelor’s program in religious principles:
– Admission is made according to the type of secondary certificate and the required rate for each of them as shown in Table (2)
– Pass the interview successfully.
– Passing the tests prescribed in the subjects eligible for study at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies.
3-Bachelor’s Program in Arabic Language and Literature:
- Admission is made according to the type of secondary certificate and the required rate for each of them as shown in Table (2).
– Pass the interview successfully.
– Passing the tests prescribed in the subjects eligible for study at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities.
4. Bachelor of Arts Program in Economics and Management:
– Admission is made according to the type of secondary certificate and the required rate for each of them as shown in Table (2).
– Pass the interview successfully.
– Passing the tests prescribed in the subjects eligible for study at the College of Economics and Management.
– Bachelor of Arts Program in Communication:
Admission is based on the type of secondary school certificate the required rate for each of them, as shown in Table No. (2). Successfully passing the personal interview.

6. Bachelor program of Interpretation and Sciences of the Holy Quran:
– Admission is according to the type of secondary certificate and the required rate for each of them as shown in Table (2).
– Pass the interview successfully.
– Passing the tests prescribed in the subjects eligible for study at the Faculty of the Holy Quran.
Required Documents :
- The original secondary certificate.
- The original transcripts for the secondary stage grades (tenth – eleventh – twelfth).
- Attestation of all certificates by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country from which the certificate is issued, and the UAE embassy in the concerned country. In the absence of the UAE embassy in the country, it shall be attested by an embassy of one of the Arab countries operating in this country.
- Legally translating foreign certificates into Arabic or English, and attesting them from the above-mentioned authorities.
- Submission of what states that the Ministry of Education in the country of issuance acknowledges the institute or school awarding the certificate, and that their graduates can join the public Universities in this country.
- Translation of the passport into the Arabic language and attesting the translated copy from both the Ministry of Education of the student’s own country and the UAE Embassy therein.
- Completed application form.
- In the event of applying to the College of Economics and Management, it is necessary to bring the international TOEFL certificate (IBT 61) points or higher, or (CBT 173) points or higher, or (PBT 500) points or higher, or the international equivalent of an academic test in English language (IELTS) with a score of not less than (5.0) or its equivalent in the Emirates Standard Test (EMSAT) in English language 1200 score, Mathematics 600 score, and Arabic language 600 score, and it should be valid.
- In the event of applying to the College of Communication, it is necessary to bring the international TOEFL certificate (IBT 45) points or higher, or (CBT 133) points or higher, or (PBT 450) points or higher, or the international equivalent of an academic test in English language (IELTS) with a total of no Less than (4.5) or its equivalent in the Emirates Standard Test (EMSAT) in English language 950 score, and it should be valid. The university does not bear the costs of the IELTS, TOEFL, or EMSAT exam.
- A copy of the student’s passport valid for not less than two years.
- recent colorful personal photos (3×4) with a white background.
- A certificate of proof of criminal status (valid) approved by the country whose nationality the student holds – if he is a newcomer from outside the country – indicating his good conduct and behaviour, with a legal translation for its content into Arabic and English.
- A copy of the birth certificate or what alike, with a legal translation for its content in case the data is not written in Arabic or English.
- A health fitness certificate issued by a government hospital in the student’s country stating that he is free of all infectious diseases. The certificate is certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country, provided that no more than three months have elapsed since the date of issuance.
Instructions
- Applicants must fill all the starred (*) items, stressing that incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Concerning the required documents, all documents to be uploaded must be in color and clear, and the file must be in (PDF) format on one page for each document, and the personal photo must be in (jpg) format.
- Accepted students will be distributed to the colleges of the university colleges within the limits of the numbers to be accepted in each college according to the capacity of each program, the priorities of their desires and the sequence of their grades.
Online Application Stages

- The student must complete all the required documents including sending a certified copy (original) of the final high school certificates, personal photos, as well as the original certificates of the TOEFL or IELTS test (if any) or any additional documents requested by the Admissions Registration Department.
